- The tournament will be held on March 14, 2026. Each player will have 10 minutes per game with a 3 second increment per move. The Open tournament will be a seven-round Swiss system, and the Closed tournament will be a Round Robin.
- The venue for the tournament will be the Ikastola Paz de Ziganda (Villava, Navarra).
- The schedule of the game rounds will be as follows:
- 1st Round – 10:30, 2nd Round – 11:15, 3rd Round – 12:00
- 4th Round – 17:00, 5th Round – 17:45, 6th Round – 18:30
- 7th Round – 19:15
- The schedule of the game rounds will be as follows:
- Registration must be completed through the FNA website, as the tournament will count towards the FNA School Circuit. Participation is limited to 100.
- The €5 registration fee must be paid to the organizers before the first round by placing it on the table. Participants who do not comply with this requirement may be eliminated from the tournament.
- The double absence of a player or an unjustified absence will cause their elimination from the tournament. It will be Organization’s decision whether to eliminate the player who does not appear in the first round. It is considered absence to a game to reach to the board with more than 5 minutes of delay on the start of the game.
- In the Open, each player can ask up to 3 byes (the player is not paired and receives 0.5 points) for rounds 1-7. The bye for a certain round must be asked before the ending of the previous round. In case the bye is for the rist round, it must be asked when registering.
- For the first round pairings, players will be ranked according to their international rapid rating. If they do not have international rapid rating, then according to the international standard rating and, lastly, in alphabetical order.
- No analysis will be allowed in the game room.
- Pairings, which will be done with computer software, will be displayed in the game room.
- Claims to the pairing will only be taken in case the item subject to the claim involves (this claim must be done no more than five minutes after it has been made public):
- Facing the same rival for the second time.
- Play the same color for the third consecutive time (except in the last round).
- Play with one color three times more than with the other (except in the last round).
- Ties in the final classification will be solved by the following systems and in the order they are expressed:
- Open
- Head-to-head result excluding all players
- Bucholz excepting the worst rival
- Average rating performance of opponents.
- Total Bucholz.
- Number of victories.
- Closed
- Head-to-head result
- Sonneborn-Berger
- Koya
- Drawing of lots
- Open
- There will be prizes for the top three finishers in the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, and Special categories for both the Closed and Open tournaments, as well as for the top finisher from the Paz de Ziganda Ikastola. All participants will also receive gifts.
- This tournament will be governed by the in force regulations of the F.I.D.E. All participants are subjected to these regulations during the course of the competition.
- Participants in the tournament authorize the publication of their relevant personal data (lists of results, classifications, participants, games, etc.) in the different media that the organization deems appropriate for the necessary dissemination of the event.
- Registration for the tournament implies acceptance of these rules.
A valid school or federation license is required. - After registering for the tournament, all players are obligated to participate. Unjustified absence from a competition will result in complete withdrawal from all competitions on the circuit, including the cup. All absences must be reported by the officiating team to the federation via email within 24 hours of the event. Justifications for absences must be submitted via email to the federation within 24 hours of the competition’s conclusion. Both absences and justifications will be reviewed by the tournament director, who will then send a decision to the player in question via email. Any affected party will have 48 hours from notification to submit an appeal..
